I thought about writing an 'ultimate' thread on the SMDV for a long time. This is my father’s new “every day” watch. Originally, we wanted the seamaster for him, but as he’s been used to the date window on the “three o’clock” from wearing his Rolex Datejust and his previous longens quartz we opted to try on the De Ville and he loved it (the new seamaster has the date on the 6).
